Camel Symbolism

The camel (Gimel) is a "ship of the desert" and is connected with the High Priestess because she too is an island of bounty and transports her abundance of knowledge in the deserts of disillusion and ignorance.

Interesting Fact

There are about 750,000 roaming wild in the Australian outback. Camels were imported to Australia in the 19th century from Arabia, India and Afghanistan for transport and heavy work in the outback.

The humps function the same way—storing fat which can be converted to energy when food/water or sustenance is not available. Whilst humans can go without water for at best 3 -5 days .... camels can do so up to 6 or 7 MONTHS using the food stored in their hump !!

Trinket Box History & Technique

Trinket box is the modern day derivative of Limoges Box. Tracing back to the 18th century, when it became a noble collectible for some of the most prestigious royalties. The boxes were originally used to send love poems, engagement rings, jewellery and other special trinkets between lovers and friends.

The technique of making jewelled trinkets is complex and involves repeated applications and firings to create the intricate details and depth of the colour for each design. It is baked, polished and plated with gold or silver trims and finished with hand set crystals for a dazzling accent to the enamel.
